Phishing Scam Information
The number and sophistication of phishing scams sent out to consumers is continuing to increase dramatically. While online e-commerce is generally very safe, consumers should still be careful about giving out personal financial information over the Internet.

The Anti-Phishing Working Group has compiled a list of recommendations below that you can use to avoid becoming a victim of these scams. Be suspicious of any email with urgent requests for personal financial information

  • Phishers typically include upsetting or exciting (but false) statements in their emails to get people to react immediately
  • They typically ask for information such as usernames, passwords, credit card numbers, social security numbers, etc.
  • Phishing emails are typically NOT personalized, while valid messages from Weber State Credit Union are. Don’t use the link in an email to get to any web page, if you suspect the message might not be authentic . Instead, call the company on the telephone, or log onto the Web site directly by typing in the Web address in your browser.
  • Avoid filling out forms in email messages that ask for personal financial information.
  • You should only communicate information such as credit card numbers or account information via a secure Web site. Always ensure that you’re using a secure Web site when submitting credit card or other sensitive information via your Web Browser.
  • To make sure you’re on a secure Web server, check the beginning of the Web address in your browsers address bar – it should be https:// rather than http://
  • Regularly check you credit union statements to ensure that all transactions are legitimate.

We currently use every precaution available to protect your accounts and information. Information sent or received through the Web site is encrypted, making it unreadable during transmission. No one at Weber State Credit Union will ever ask for your password.

    What is Multi-Factor Authentication?

Multi-Factor Authentication is a process by which WSCU helps members ensure they are visiting our Web site, and not a "spoof" site created by identity thieves. After members input their account number, they will be shown a "confidence word" of their choosing. This word is the guarantee that members are on our site. Confidence words are stored in a secure database at the credit union, and cannot be copied by individuals outside the credit union. For help with your confidence word and Multi-Factor authentication, please contact our help desk.

Can I transfer from my account to another member's account?

To help protect our members from fraudulent activity, cross-account transfers must be set up in advance by credit union staff. Once your account has been set up for transfers, you will be able to make transfers any time to members you specify to our staff. To set up cross-account transfers, visit one of our branches or call the Help Desk at 801-399-9728.

Is there a fee to use online banking at Weber State Credit Union?
There is no fee to use Weber State Credit Union's E-Branch.

What type of browser do I need to access the site?
It is recommended that members use the latest version of Mozilla FireFox 2 , Internet Explorer 7 , Netscape Navigator, or Apple Safari.

How do I get a Weber State Credit Union E-Branch password?
